Terms of Service
Last updated September 28, 2026
These terms cover the websites, AI receptionists and related services Front Desk Studio ("we", "us") provides to your business ("you"). By signing up for a plan, you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, ask us — we'd rather explain than surprise you.
1. Free previews
We may design a free preview of a website for your business. There’s no charge and no obligation — if you don’t sign up, you owe nothing.
2. Plans and what’s included
What each plan and add-on includes is listed on our pricing section. When you sign up, we’ll confirm your plan in writing.
- A content update is one change that takes up to about 30 minutes — text, photos, prices, hours or a new section. Unused updates don't roll over. Bigger changes are quoted before we start.
- “Unlimited” content updates are handled one request at a time. Custom software on the Front Desk plan is one project at a time, and we agree the scope with you before we start.
- We don’t promise any particular search ranking, number of visitors or amount of business. Nobody can honestly promise that.
3. Fees and billing
- Plans are billed monthly, in advance. We send you an invoice each month.
- Each plan has a one-time setup fee equal to one month’s price. It’s waived if you stay at least 3 months. If you cancel before then, the setup fee becomes due.
- Founding customers (our first 3) pay no setup fee and keep their monthly price for 12 months.
- We may change our prices with 30 days’ notice. If you don’t want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
- If a payment is late, we’ll let you know before pausing any service.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel anytime by email or phone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you’ve already paid for. We don’t charge cancellation fees (other than the setup fee described above, if you leave in the first 3 months).
5. Who owns what
- Your domain is registered in your name. If you leave, it stays yours, and we’ll help you point it wherever you like.
- Your content — your text, photos, logo, and the words we write for your site — belongs to you.
- If you leave, we hand over your website’s files and any custom software we built for you. You’re then responsible for hosting it.
- Our own general tools, templates and know-how, which we use for many customers, remain ours.
6. Your part
- Give us accurate information about your business, and tell us when it changes.
- Only send us photos, logos and text you have the right to use.
- You’re responsible for your business’s own offers, prices and legal obligations shown on your site.
7. The AI Receptionist
The AI Receptionist answers using only the information you give it, and it’s clearly labeled as an automated assistant. It can still misunderstand a question or make a mistake, so please check the messages it collects. It takes booking requests; it never confirms a booking on its own.
8. Other companies’ services
Some features connect to services you use or sign up for — like a booking tool, Google Business Profile, email, Square or Stripe. Those are governed by their own terms. Payments your customers make go to your own account; we never hold your money.
9. Keeping your site running
We monitor your site and fix problems as quickly as we reasonably can, but no website can be guaranteed to be available 100% of the time.
10. Limits of our responsibility
We provide our services with care, but “as is.” To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and tell current customers about any change that affects them before it takes effect.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
